Pensacola Opera's Il trovatore
At Pensacola Opera, the season is announced nearly one year before the show dates occur, leaving a large amount of time for the production to leave a consumer’s mind. To combat that, I created the strategy to release artwork in two batches, the first being a digital illustration followed by a photography campaign. This allowed for the creative direction to grow and adapt throughout the year while still remaining relevant to the public. For instance, both mainstage performances were shown in this playing card style, with the classic “good vs. evil” character comparisons to begin telling the story of the operas. Both performances received modern takes as time developed, which was able to be reflected in the photography and videography while the illustrations still remained relevant in their artistic presentation.
